We can't wait for future event's like this that become wonderful adventures!! Every place we played, starting the Tour in Santa Cruz, California, we were greeted with smiles and wonderful people we will not forget. Although the time seemed short, we really enjoyed every minute warming up the crowd for Salvador Santana, who Rocks the crowd with Lyrics from his soul! One of our favorites and coming out on his new CD, The song  "Mi tesoro" Written for his late grandmother Josefina Santana. This song is beautiful, Salvador is destined for greatness!! Salvador's band includes, the EXTREMELY TALENTED and beautiful ALEX NESTER!! If you haven't heard this woman sing, you are in for a treat!! The Talented Jared Meeker on Guitar, with his wonderful spirit and solos!! Itai Shapira, AKA "The foundation" on bass, Blake Colie the "rastaman" on drums. =)


At SLIMS, we also spent time with our great friend Carlos Elizalde and his band Ruckatan. Playing their own Original music to a very excited and awaiting crowd. Ruckatan, we the band called BLANCA LOVE YOU!! It really was a very special night, and the Positive energy and Vibes were Obvious!!


Now The BAND CALLED BLANCA is ready to hit Live Oak Studios again to finish up our new Cd due before this summer 2012!!!! We are ready to take over the world, and can't wait for everyone to hear our new music!! As we have said before, quality before quantity is what has held us back from rushing this out, we appreciate your patience and know you won't be disappointed!!


Latin Essence was also a treat, and we can't forget The band Colores!! Thumbs up to everyone that was a part of this equation!! Also to the people that weren't, we salute you!! ;)

The small mini tour we had playing Don Quixotes in Santa Cruz, Slims in San Francisco and Silos in Napa was awesome!!! In 2009 Salvador entered the studio to record his second major studio album / first solo album Keyboard City. He enlisted underground legends Del The Funky Homosapien, Money Mark (Beastie Boys), and GZA to help him with the album's production.
Keyboard City was built on what Salvador called "a mix of my favorite music, the best of what’s impacted my life, all coming together in a new way." Salvador first masterminded the direction for the album after a 2008 Remixes project where Del The Funky Homosapien was commissioned to remix the SSB song"Hella Tight". The synergy between Salvador and Del, along with the eclectic and fresh sound of the Remixes project was the inspiration for the new musical direction in the studio for his sophomore release.
In late fall 2009 a series of remix MP3s of the album's title track "Keyboard City" were released on the internet. These remixes were performed by internet DJs, The Hood Internet as well as indie electronic musician Dan Deacon, both remixes featured vocals by GZA. These remix MP3s were wildly popular, appearing on taste maker music sites such as Brooklyn Vegan, Pitchfork Media, and My Old Kentucky Blog. Keyboard City was released on February 2, 2010 via Quannum Projects. Keyboard Magazine [1] declared that "Funkadelic and the Meters had a love child who was then raised by Esquivel in a space age bachelor pad full of analog synths." The magazine also stated, "On December 31, 2019, Keyboard City may well be remembered as one of the standout neo-funk records of the decade." Allmusic.com [2] gave the album 4.5 out of 5 stars and Spin Magazine [3] gave the album 3 out of 5 stars.

SCRIBE has been rapping on stage with Grammy Award winning performer Carlos Santana, and his son Salvador, since he was still in high school. As lead MC for the Salvador Santana Band, he toured and performed throughout Europe, Canada and The United States. Sammy has opened for acts such as Santana, Los Lonely Boys, Ozomatli and The Robert Randolph Band. Scribe has also recorded with Carlos Santana on the benefit CD “Food for Thought” (released all over the United States) and the Santana DVD “Hymns for Peace” (released world wide). Scribe, who began his journey as a classical and jazz musician, developed an eclectic taste in music that is so much a part of his current band. As an MC and a songwriter Sammy has the opportunity to write and record with Carlos Santana, Salvador Santana and Los Mocosos. Forty years ago, a group of musicians from the Excelsior and Mission Districts of San Francisco became known as “Malo”. Previously, they had called themselves “The Malibus” and they played at places such as the Mission YMCA and the Nite Life night club. Their big hit “Suavecito” in 1972 has been called "The Chicano National Anthem" and was arranged for Malo by Richard Bean, Pablo Tellez, and Abel Zarate. Malo then had a huge following and released other hits, such as "Chevere", "Nena", "Pana", "Cafe" and "Oye Mama".

Malo is still exciting crowds everywhere they go and will be celebrating their 40th year on July 31st at the Great American Music Hall in San Francisco. Special guest stars will be performing with them to commemorate this historic event in their home town. Malo’s current line-up includes: Arcelio Garcia (Lead Vocals), Jorge Santana (Guitar), Gus Bogios (Bass), David George (Drums), Gabriel Manzo (Lead Guitar), Gibby Ross (Timbales), Daniel Cervantes (Keyboards), Brian Buekelman (Trumpet), Pete Rodriguez (Trumpet, Trombone), Jack Musgrove (Trumpet, Flugelhorn) and David Chavez (Congas).


Performing with them will be Lava - Latin Rhythms and Blanca (Sandoval).

Lava
Lava has a very diverse set list, with songs in several different styles, such as Latin Jazz, Cha-Cha-Cha, Latin Rock, Latin Funk, and Salsa. They cover such artists as Santana, Malo, Poncho Sanchez and War. Lava also plays a number of standards that have been in the top 40 over the past 30 years. Lava has had the privilege of opening for headliners Sapo, Malo, Pete Escovedo, and former lead vocalist of Tower of Power Lenny Williams.

Lava features Mio "Timbalero" Flores (Timbales), Delbert Ojeda (Congas), Richie Cravalho (Guitar and Vocals) and Andres Soto (Tenor Sax, Flute and Vocals), Cedric Deonbi (Lead Vocals), Richie Aguon (Drums), Joaquin Solorzano (Bass, Vocals), Vic Bajarano (Keyboards), Manuel Duran (Trumpet, Vocals) and Allen Williams (Trombone).


Blanca
Blanca Sandoval, is the rising star in the Bay Area Latin Rock Community whose sound is derived from a mixture of her Latin musical roots with rock, funk, jazz, and up beat ballads, her bilingual style is extremely diverse and prepared to engage any crowd. She is a talented singer/songwriter who also plays acoustical guitar, her band has some very talented musicians to go along with her energy and beautiful voice. Members of her band include: Robert Zamora (Guitar), Mike Juarez (Drums) and Oscar Tablada (Bass) from Sapo.

She is strong in her convictions and most of her songs include a message, which profess her strength as a woman and as a Latina. When she performs, you cannot help but notice that her fans get out of their seats to get close to the stage so as not to miss a minute of her performance.
