Blanca Sandoval - Singer/songwriter

With a soulful voice and lyrics from the heart, singer songwriter Blanca Sandoval has captivated audiences. By means of an unrivaled sound that blends together her Latin musical roots with rock, funk, jazz, and up beat ballads, her bilingual style is extremely diverse and prepared to engage any crowd.

Daughter of one of the biggest stars to come out of  Asuncion Paraguay, CHINGOLA IRALA. Out of Guadalajara Mexico, her musical father Humberto Sandoval,  Group leader of LOS HERMANOS SANDOVAL,  with Hits On the Billboard charts in the  60’s Such as “Nunca en Domingo” and “las hojas verdes de el verano" , Blanca had music in her blood and soul!

Growing up Blanca's life was full of activity preparing for countless performances. She sang at family shows and many memorable events. She has performed alongside such talent as Beatris Adriana, las Jilgerillas and Maribel Guardia, Jagged edge, Pete Escovedo, Sheila E, Malo, and Salvador Santana  just to name a few. From musical plays to dancing, vocal lessons, her   life was inspired by performing!

Blanca wrote songs but   aspired to arrange and produce her own music, with little time on her hands, no sense of direction and not having the maturity level to accomplish this she became overwhelmed and uncertain what the future held for her.   She made a tough decision to take a break from music only to quickly come to the conclusion that music had and always will be her greatest passion.

Later in life Blanca met Robert Zamora. Robert couldn't have arrived at a better time. He instantly became her brother in music and lead guitarist.   While Blanca had ideas, lyrics and melodies, Robert shared his talent and brilliant style to create a sound that's edgy, fresh and unique. Together they collaborated on a CD called "MI MUSICA" containing eleven songs written by Blanca, produced and arranged by her and Robert. "LATINA Y ORGULLOSA" is Song number three on the CD, and has touched hearts and Won second place at the 2005 Festival de la CANCION LATINOAMERICANA de California. In 2006 Blanca earned first place as a songwriter with "A VECES" A song she had her talented sister Alma Galvan Sing as she also won best interpreter. In that same day Blanca also won TROFEO UNIVISION   for song number seven "VENENO".  The CD MI MUSICA   is a lyrical experience for everyone.

Blanca since mi musica CD has reconnected with an old friend Mike Juarez, who originally played drums for the Rock band Solomon. Mike's rock/metal drumming brought an edgier sound to Blanca's music. The edgy style that she and Robert had been looking for. Bringing the Metal to the pedal. Having the Bass player from Sapo, Oscar Tablada has brought  the bass in your face in what is now the band called BLANCA. Back in the studio recording their second CD, BLANCA now has the music that identifies their own unique style. ROCK, METAL, HIPHOP, SKA, JAZZ, FUNK, FUSION and a big Latin influence. Blanca Sandoval is poised on the edge of stardom as the next great bilingual singer songwriter,  truly a child of music, soulful, edgy and defiant.

Stay tuned....

Blanca Sandoval was born to musical parents in Edmonton, Canada while they were on tour as
“Los Sandoval. She was raised in an environment surrounded by music and sang in many
memorable events. At the tender age of three, she sang her very first song in Asuncion,
Paraguay titled "Muchacha Bonita", which was composed by her father.
Blanca has a melodic voice, which blends her Latin musical roots with rock, funk, jazz, and up
beat ballads. She is an experienced songwriter in addition to her talents on stage. As a songwriter
she identifies themes, composes the lyrics in English and Spanish, and develops the melody for
all of her songs. She arranged all of the songs on her first CD “Mi Musica”, and is currently
working on the second CD, which is expected to be released by 2011. She has written numerous
songs in a wide variety of styles (Pop, Rock, Romantic Ballads, etc.)
Blanca has performed alongside such talent as Lola Beltran, Beatris Adriana, Maribel Guardia,
Jagged Edge, Pete Escovedo, Sheila Escovedo, Malo, and Salvador Santana, just to name a
few.
Known as “The Sweetheart of Latin Rock, Inc”, she recently brought together some very talented
musicians to form the band “BLANCA” which includes Robert Zamora (lead guitar), Mike Juarez
(drums) and Oscar Tablada (bass). The new four/piece band has been pulling in their own
audience and recruiting new fans everywhere they play.
“I remember going to take vocal lessons with Tony Lindsay, the lead singer for Santana. He had
never heard me before, and since I brought my guitar he asked me to sing. I started singing one
of my originals, (I Can’t Believe) and when I was done, he said; “What are you doing here?
There’s nothing I can do for you.”  That felt really good coming from him.”
“What I really love about writing songs, is being able to reach into someone’s soul and touch their
life in a special way. There’s always one song that connects with someone listening in the crowd,
on line, or when they get the CD and listen. Heartbroken, happy, or angry, everyone always has
something to say about how they’re feeling. And when people express they’re feelings listening to
songs I’ve written, that is a blessing in itself.”
“I always wanted a band that would play my songs. However, I always felt like people believed in
me as an artist, but not as a songwriter, even though I had been writing music since I was ten. I
would work my butt off and hire musicians to play my music. As word spread, I slowly started
making a name for myself and creating a buzz. I learned to apply dedication and discipline to
everything I do. In life you have to ask yourself, do you want to be good, or do you want to be
great?” ~ Blanca Sandoval
“Blanca is strong in her convictions and most of her songs include a message, which profess her
strength as a woman and as a Latina (most evident in her song "Latina Y Orgullosa").   Her voice
is powerful with amazing range, I am captivated each time I watch her sing.  Whenever she
performs, you cannot help but notice that her fans get out of their seats to get close to the stage,
so as not to miss a minute of her performance.  Her fans seem to know the words to all of her
songs and sing along during her performances.  Although we are not related, I am extremely
proud to share my name with her.” ~ Bob Sandoval, Latin Rock, Inc.
Blanca’s distinct style touches fans, young, old, Spanish and English . This makes her an
excellent artist for any market.
